Production Tenures within the Surat CMA

Abstract

This dataset was derived by the Bioregional Assessment Programme from multiple source datasets. The source datasets are identified in the Lineage field in this metadata statement. The processes undertaken to produce this derived dataset are described in the History field in this metadata statement.

The Surat Cumulative Management Area encompasses an area of intensive coal seam gas development in the Surat and Southern Bowen Sedimentary Basins. It is an area where the impacts of water extractions by petroleum tenure holders overlap. This dataset is the end result of the Office of Groundwater Impact Assessment (OGIA) Levy Calculation Processing done for July 2014. It is a merge of the final Exploration Permits for Petroleum (EPP) and Petroleum Leases (PL) spatial files clipped to the Surat CMA.

Dataset History

This dataset was derived by a merge of the Exploration Permits for Petroleum (EPP) and Petroleum Leases (PL) spatial files contained within the source dataset and clipped to the Surat CMA.

Baseline development has been assessed on a per tenure basis and summarised in the MBC 2.3 Product - Conceptual modelling for the Maranoa-Balonne-Condamine subregion.
