The Correctional Facilities dataset was digitized in 2012 from the library of imagery held within Geoscience Australia. Imagery used ranged from 0.15m to 2.5m resolution. The primary information sources used to identify and attribute the correctional facilities was the State and Territory correctional or justice department websites. The Australian Institute of Criminology online correctional facility list was also utilized as authoritative validation source.
