Earthquake Monitoring

This seismograph is part of Geoscience Australia’s Seismic Network which detects local and regional earthquakes and measures their magnitude. This allows Geoscience Australia to provide earthquake alerts and advice. These earthquake alerts are pivotal to the Joint Australian Tsunami Warning Centre which issues warnings to the Australian region.
