Molecular responses of sponge larvae exposed to partially weathered condensate oil

This data collection consists of sponge larval settlement data, differential gene expression data and microbial amplicon sequence variant (ASV) data associated with an experiment examining the effects of a water accommodated fraction (WAF) of partially weathered condensate oil on the common Indo-Pacific sponge, Phyllospongia foliascens. Sponge larvae were exposed to six WAF treatment dilutions ranging from 0 to 100% for a period of 24-h and processed for Tag-based RNA-Seq and 16S rRNA amplicon sequencing.

Chemical characterisation of the WAF used in this study was perfomed in Negri et al. 2021, with details in the associated repository (https://apps.aims.gov.au/metadata/view/615e208d-f6c7-4b2f-b99e-d4fc50614e48).

For full methodological and analytical details please refer to the full research publication, Luter et al. Additionally, raw sequencing data can be found in the NCBI Sequence Read Archives under BioProject number PRJNA1012550.
